Reviewed By: Herr Mike Style: Scottish Ale State/Country: Pennsylvania ABV: 6.8 Serving Type: 12 oz Look: 8 Cloudy orange color, beige head, slick lacing Smell: 8.5 Caramel, wet bread, spice, fruity Taste: 7 Tangy, apple, floral, metallic Mouthfeel: 7 Medium with light carbonation Drinkability: 6 This beer is too weird for me. One and done! Overall Score: 7.4 Value: 9 Cost/12 oz serving: $1.67 Overall Impression: I thought this was a Scottish Ale but the taste was anything but. I drink more Wee Heavy's which I know are stronger with the peatiness and malt and smoke. This beer almost tasted like old apple cider. I don't know if I got a bad batch, but this was hard to finish. This beer totally derailed my palate! FUBAR on this one!

Almost a dessert brew, with the coffee and chocolate notes. Two at most! Overall Score: 8.5 Value: 8 Cost/12 oz serving: $2.75 Overall Impression: This is one complex brew! Taste more like a Stout or Porter. If you are looking for a hoppy beer, this brew is not for you. It's a great tasting beer but the roasted malt flavor overpowered the hops for me! Try it and see what you think!

Rich and chocolaty with that Belgian banana and spiciness, but there wasn't that funky tartness that I find in Sasions. This is an awesome tasting beer that you should seek out and drink, but don't expect a traditional Sasion.
