Reviewed By: Herr Mike Style: Imperial Black IPA State/Country: Michigan ABV: 8.9 Serving Type: 12 oz Look: 9 Ebony color, small tan head, thick sticky lacing Smell: 8 Cocoa, malt, dark fruit Taste: 9 Bitter chocolate, pine, dark fruit, slight booze, citrus, burnt toast Mouthfeel: 8 Medium with low carbonation Drinkability: 8 Roastiness and dark fruit followed by a piney citrusy bite. The booze is well hidden. I could do another. Overall Score: 8.4 Value: 8 Cost/12 oz serving: $3.00 Overall Impression: I'm not a huge black IPA drinker but this one was impressive, most impressive. Darkness everywhere with a looming hopiness that takes a bite at you after it settles on your palate. Lord Vader would be quaffing this one on the Death Star.
