Reviewed By: Herr Mike Style: Black Double/Imperial IPA State/Country: Pennsylvania ABV: 9% Serving Type: 12 oz Look: 9 Mocha color, medium thick tan head, stringy lacing Smell: 8 Chocolate, dark fruit, earthy Taste: 8 Chocolate, roasted nuts, pine, earthy, burnt toast, molasses Mouthfeel: 8 Medium with medium carbonation Drinkability: 8 Drinks like a slightly hoppy Stout Overall Score: 8.2 Value: 9 Cost/12 oz serving: $2.75 Overall Impression: I didn't even realize this was a Black DIPA until I cracked it open. It's tasty but this style is not one of my favorites. It drank more like a Stout, so you don't pick up the citrus in the hops. With that said, I actually liked the beer. Try it if you like the style.
