Reviewed By: Herr Mike Style: Black Double IPA State/Country: Michigan ABV: 8.5 Serving Type: 12 oz Look: 9 Black coffee color, creamy off white head, sticky lacing Smell: 8 Chocolate, coffee, wood, slight pine, citrus, licorice Taste: 8 Coffee, burnt toast, oak, grass, pine, slight booze Mouthfeel: 9 Very heavy and sticky Drinkability: 8.5 At 8and half pounds this is a light heavyweight for a DIPA. Almost a dessert brew, with the coffee and chocolate notes. Two at most! Overall Score: 8.5 Value: 8 Cost/12 oz serving: $2.75 Overall Impression: This is one complex brew! Taste more like a Stout or Porter. If you are looking for a hoppy beer, this brew is not for you. It's a great tasting beer but the roasted malt flavor overpowered the hops for me! Try it and see what you think!
